Law of Triviality

A law that describes people is worth more than a law that commands them. Law of Triviality describes, and describes well.

What makes this law useful is that it is predictive. If you know it, you can see tomorrow morning's mistake tonight. That is as close to prophecy as ordinary life allows.

Every colony has a notice board and a gossip channel. The notice board informs; the channel decides. Wise residents read the first and audit the second.

Society is a long conversation; the only question is whether you are listening or merely waiting to speak. Tomorrow will provide the test. It always does.
